Kia ora, and welcome! If there is one thing you need to know about me, it is that my heart belongs entirely to the rugged, untamed landscapes of New Zealand. For as long as I can remember, I have been captivated by the deep valleys, ancient forests, and sprawling trails of Aotearoa. Hiking isn't just a pastime for me; it is a fundamental way of life and my absolute favorite way to connect with the sheer, unfiltered beauty this country has to offer.
My deep respect for these wild places eventually led me to a highly rewarding role as a Department of Conservation (DOC) Hut Ranger on the renowned Kepler Track. Living and working in the heart of Fiordland gave me an intimate, behind-the-scenes appreciation of our native ecosystems and the daily rhythms of one of New Zealand's Great Walks. Protecting this pristine environment while welcoming weary trampers and helping them safely experience its wonders solidified my lifelong commitment to our backcountry.
When I am not tramping through the bush, you will almost certainly find me seeking out higher elevations. As an avid mountaineer and climber, I am constantly drawn to the technical challenges and quiet solitude of the high alpine. The towering volcanic peaks of the North Island—Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Taranaki—served as my ultimate training grounds, honing my skills on unpredictable, icy terrain. Now, I rely on that hard-earned foundation to plan and tackle even bigger alpine adventures among the mighty, glaciated peaks of the South Island's Southern Alps.
As the seasons change and the heavy snows roll in, my hiking boots are quickly swapped for bindings. I am a lifelong skier and have spent countless winters living and breathing mountain culture while working at various ski fields across the country.
Through this site, I want to share that magic with you. I am proud to offer a collection of high-quality photos I have captured during my adventures, alongside custom merchandise designed to bring the spirit of Aotearoa into your everyday life. Whether it is a striking alpine print or a piece of gear for your own travels, my hope is that these creations inspire you to pack your bags and experience the rugged beauty of New Zealand for yourself.
